Pour son concert inaugural, Projet K présente Acustica, du compositeur argentin Mauricio Kagel, en première Nord-Américaine.
Composée en 1970, cette œuvre de musique performative est d’une durée variable, entre 45 et 75 minutes. Teintée d’humour, elle requiert l’utilisation d’une quarantaine d’instruments construits ou choisis par les interprètes, faisant cohabiter sur scène objets usuels et objets à tendance ready-made. Ces instruments demandent à être exploré d’une manière libre ou avec une précision maniaque, selon les indications du compositeur. Chaque représentation se doit donc d’être unique, variant selon l’écoute des cinq interprètes et les instruments à leur disposition.
Acustica sera précédée de Intranquillités IIb: Viitasaari de Symon Henry, une pièce pour chariot, instrument à cordes pincées, percussions, et composition en temps direct.

Fort its inaugural concert, Projet K presents the North-American premiere of Acustica, by the Argentinian composer Mauricio Kagel.
Written in 1970, this masterpiece of theatrical music has a variable duration of about 45 to 75 minutes. Full of ambiguous whit, the piece requires that the performers play on approximately forty home-made or ready-made instruments, sometimes in a totally free way, sometimes with manic precision. Every performance of the piece is meant to be absolutely unique, depending on the instruments, their use, as well as the mental state of the performers.
Acustica will be preceded by Intranquillités IIb: Viitasaari, by Symon Henry, a piece for plucked and percussion instruments, live composition, and wagon.
